'Legends of Tomorrow' Update: DC Spin-Off Series To Premiere In January 2016

The latest DC adaptation "Legends of Tomorrow" has its own premiere date on The CW.

Screen Crush reported that the spin-off of the successful TV adaptation of "Arrow" and "The Flash" will take off on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016.

During the panel discussion at the Paley Center for Media, Warner Bros. President and Chief Content Officer Peter Roth confirmed the supposed premiere date. He also said that the studio has "high hopes" for the series.

Roth began complementing producer Greg Berlanti for his lineup of successful superhero-centered series.

"For those of you that don't know, Greg is currently shepherding the #1 and #2 new series of the year. So thanks to my friend and protégé, we're having a very good year," Roth said.

Berlanti shows how multitasking works as a creator, writer and producer in various TV series included in the 2015-2016 TV season. He is a writer for three shows in The CW including "Arrow," "The Flash" and "Legends of Tomorrow." Aside from his writing gigs, Berlanti also serves as an executive producer for "Blindspot," "Supergirl" and the brand-new superhero series.

The outlet also noted that "Legends of Tomorrow" will air every Thursday in 2016. It was slated after "The Flash Season 2" on Tuesdays and "Arrow" Season 4 on Wednesdays.

As per the official synopsis from The CW, "Legends of Tomorrow" will follow the life of the time traveler who goes by the name "Rip Hunter." He will take on the responsibility on assembling superheroes and villains in order to save their planet.

The 15-episode superhero series will star Victor Garber as Dr. Martin Stein, Franz Drameh as Jay Jackson, Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer, Ciara Renee as Hawkgirl, Falk Hentschel as Hawkman, Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold, Dominic Purcell as Heat Wave, Caity Lots, Arthur Darvill as Rip Hunter, Stephanie Corneliussen as Valentina Vostok and Casper Crump as the DC villain, Vandal Savage.

We previously reported that "Arrow" and "The Flash" will pave the way for the premiere of "Legends of Tomorrow" with a two-episode crossover event this December.

"The Flash" Season 2 Episode 8 "Legends of Today" will air on Dec. 2 while "Arrow" Season 4 Episode 8 "Legends of Yesterday" will air on Dec. 3.

Starting on Jan. 21, 2016, DC's "Legends of Tomorrow" airs every Thursday on The CW.
