‘Arrow’ Season 4 Premiere Review: Episode 1 Offers a Game-Changing Villain and a Different Oliver Queen

"Arrow" Season 4 premieres on The CW at 8 pm, and it has been a trending topic on twitter with the hashtag "Arrow." It appears like the new season of the superhero series is getting good reviews from its audience. The review says that the show is now gearing towards the right direction, and that is is showing a firmer footing as far as Oliver Queen's new situation is concerned.

To the fans' dismay, the previous season of "Arrow" failed its audience. IGN reports that despite having high points in season 3, it was pretty disappointing in its overall rating. However, as the first episode airs, it appears like the show is moving to the right path again. There has obviously been good improvements such as its tone, costumes, villains, and lead characters among others.

It is definitely strange (in a good way) to see that Oliver Queen looks "genuinely happy and at peace with himself." Fans are used to seeing him sullen since season 1. It has been noted that "for all that the Season 3 finale failed to justify Ollie's sudden shift away from the vigilante lifestyle, this episode really conveyed that psychological shift." Actor Stephen Amell has pulled his character right and must be credited for being able to alter his character from a tortured hero to a happy guy that he is now.

TV Fanatic says that the return of "Arrow" in season 4 is definitely satisfying. It says that it is fun to watch Felicity and Ollie living a normal life as normal couple with all their amusing bantering and cheesy savoring lines- something new for this season. The Villain- Damien Darhk is definitely quippy and interesting. Well, what else can you say about Neal McDonough, he is one of those credible actors who puts his character to life effortlessly. TV says that "he's very good at playing these sorts of well-dressed, well-spoken evil assholes. His casting did create a glimmer of hope, and I'm glad to find that both his performance and the writing for Darhk delivered."

The overall verdict of "Arrow" season 4 premiere episode 1 shows a a good sign in addressing the shortcomings of its last season. Episode 1 has revealed a dramatically different, but at the same time refreshing Oliver Queen. The show is also being able to deliver a very compelling and game-changing villain in the charcter of Damien Darhk.
