Real Estate Listings: Minnesota's Most Expensive House Still Waiting For Buyer After 8 Years

Minnesota's most expensive listing property is still waiting for its buyer after eight years. According to Realtor, the house was listed on the market in September 2007 for $53.5 million. Since then, the real estate had to cut the price off to a more affordable one at $24 million when the current owner tried to auction the place. Despite the huge cut, however, the house is still waiting for its future owner.

CBS local reported that the property was originally owned by John and Eleanor Pillsbury in 1918. The couple had six children and they wanted a home which is welcoming and grand but not so flashy. It was also reported that the home is full of history with the Pillsbury family pictures mounted on the walls along with the pictures of their children with their new families.

According to its listing agent, the home also hosted some of the prominent people in history which includes heads of states, domestic and international presidents and many more. When Eleanor died in 1992, the family decided to sell the estate. Former hedge fund manager Jim Jundt and his wife Joann, who are known for their philanthropic circles, then bought the place and renovated the home to restore it.

The 32,000-square-foot mansion sits on 13 acres of lakefront land. Jim and Joan purchased the home in 1992 for $5 million. The restoration project took four years and millions of dollars. Originally, the house has a total of seven rooms and the couple added a three-room wine cellar and combined bedrooms in order to create a master suite which features dual dressing rooms.

The property also has other luxurious features like a separate carriage house, a swilling pool with pool house, a tennis court, a spa and the caretaker's apartment.
