Xbox Live Free Games with Gold: January 2015 Lineup Revealed; 3 Titles Offered

Microsoft has revealed the free games offered for Xbox Live Games with Gold members, confirming three upcoming games on January 2015 for the Xbox One and Xbox 360, PC Mag reported.

The announcement was confirmed by Major Nelson, listing down the titles that will be available for members in all markets where the Xbox Live is available. They also stated that the games may be available under different titles depending on the region and on market availability.

Two games are going to be available for the Xbox 360, while one for the Xbox One, according to Anand Tech.

For the Xbox 360, Xbox Live Gold members can get the "MX vs ATV Alive" and "The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings."

THQ Digital Phoenix's "MX vs ATV Alive" is the fourth installment of the off-road racing games and originally released in May 2011 for the Xbox 360, as well as the PlayStation 3. It originally received a score of only 63 of 100 on Metascore and 7.5 of 10 on Metacritic and was said as being more of a promotion for paid DLC content, according to Anand Tech.

"MX vs ATV Alive" originally sold for a price of $19.99, but will be available for free from Jan. 1 through 15.

"The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings," on the other hand, scored 88 of 100 on Metascore and 8.4 of 10 on Metacritic. It is based on the fantasy novels "The Witcher" and has been praised for its great story and excellent gameplay, according to Anand Tech.

"The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings" originally sold for a price of $29.99, but will be available for free from Jan. 16 through 31.

This might also spell good news for fans who are awaiting the release of "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" which will come out on May. 19, according to Digital Trends.

The sole game available for the Xbox One is "D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die" by Access Games and was originally released on September 2014. While reviews were reportedly mixed, according to Anand Tech, the game scored highly on Metascore with 77 and on Metacritic with 7.2.

"D4: Dark Dreams Don't Die" will be available for free for all of January after dropping from a normal retail price of $14.99.

Not only that, but in line with the Games with Gold Promo, Best Buy is offering the Xbox One console in a $350 bundle that also offers the "Assassin's Creed: Unity," "Assassin's Creed: Black Flag," "Destiny," and a $50 gift card from Best Buy, according to PC Mag.
