How Long Can You Actually Store Food in the Kitchen?

If you are a very busy person and someone who tends to store food for a very long time inside the freezer, now is the time to change your bad habit. Being busy is never an excuse to ensure that the food you eat is fresh and clean. Here's how to know how long you can store specific types of food in your freezer at home.

According to House Beautiful, baked breads and rolls may be stored inside the freezer for a maximum of three months. However, if the bread is unbaked, it can only be stored for a maximum of one month.

If you are fond of eating pancakes, know that you can only store them inside the freezer for three months. If it's waffles you're fond of, then you need to consume it at a much shorter period of time within one month.

When it comes to meat, lamb and veal may be stored for nine months. Pork chops may be stored for four to six months, while pork roasts may be stored for a maximum of one year.

Fried chicken may be stored for four months, but chicken nuggets may only be stored for a maximum of one to three months.

Seafood may also be stored in the freezer for a long time. However, crab is the maximum option at 10 months. Fatty fish, smoked fish, shellfish, clams, mussels and the like may only be stored inside the freezer for a maximum of three months.

Eggs and cottage cheese may be stored for a month, while yogurt and ice cream may be stored for two months. Hard and soft cheeses may be stored for six months, and butter may last until nine months, according to The Huffington Post.
