2015 Home Design Trends That You Need To Let Go Of This Year

2015 Home design trends were a bit light and rustic, most of which often for minimal touches and plain backgrounds. Though some trends are worth keeping, some however should be considered as the thing of the past. Listed below are home design trends from last year that would be ditched.

As per Yahoo! Makers, Kitchen Offices is something that you should let go of. Having an office desk in one of the busiest area at home may only be applicable for those that are on the go and does not have time to settle. But for those who are more laid back, your kitchen desk top needs to find a new spot.

As per Alessia Z. Loffredo of ReDesign Home, office desk should be avoided in high traffic areas.

"You want it out of the high traffic area, instead, focus on maximizing storage space in kitchens and creating office areas in a separate and more private setting, like the study. If you don't have a study, carve space for a desk in living rooms or bedrooms."

Yahoo also suggested that neutrals should be set aside as well as this year will be filled with vibrant colors. Michael Mershat from Wentworth Studio stated that the neutrals would still remain it would however serve as a backdrop to bold colored pieces.

"Grays, whites, and taupes will still be there, but they will become the background that allows us to incorporate bold colors in the forefront."

V shaped pattern or Chevron made its way into several households, but according to Sara Gilbane, it needs to find it's way out as it is no longer flattering this year.

"I have seen it a lot in fabric, wallpaper, and flooring (wood and tile) and it is already starting to feel dated to me. A herringbone wood floor is classic, but chevron no longer feels fresh."

As for the latest home trends, pinterest came up with the list that summed up all the hottest home trends this year. Some of which are Scandavian Inspired designs,Hidden Wires, and Shades of Grey.
