Homeowners Would Rather Share Home with Ghost than Have a Possessed Doll Around – Trulia

Looks like the Americans would rather live with "Bethsheba" (The Conjuring) rather than "Annabelle" - the possessed doll.

As Halloween inches closer, Trulia conducted a survey to find out what spooked homeowners the most and the haunts they preferred. Conducted over a period of two days, between September 24 to 26, 2014, Trulia polled 2,005 adults across the United States, of which 1,117 plan on buying a home in the near future.

The survey generated some hilarious and interesting results. Forty two percent of the respondents said they would like to be haunted by a vengeful ghost, while only 26 percent thought it okay to have a haunted doll around. Only 23 percent would welcome an evil leprechaun in their house and only 9 percent were okay with hosting a demon.

Sixty eight percent of the participants said they would exorcise their home if they found out it was possessed, but only 18 percent said they would pay $101 to $1000 for the ritual. So basically, they'd want the ghost out for cheap!

The survey also found out what would scare potential buyers off. On the top of the list was "a former crime scene" with about 59 percent saying they would never live in a former crime scene. That was followed by "living near a highway/freeway" with 52 percent saying they'd never buy on the roads.

Surprisingly, homeowners were more scared of clutter than they were of home that had the satanic "666" in the address! Living near a graveyard was no big deal either with about 54 percent agreeing to buy a home there.

Some respondents said they'd sell their soul for certain features of the house with square footage leading in the list. Nine percent of the respondents said they'd sell their soul for double the square footage, while 7 percent said they'd do it for an in-ground pool. Six percent said they'd do it for better schools, while only 4 percent said they would for an amazing nightlife.
