The cast and creator of the hit hacker series "Mr. Robot" sat in a panel during the New York Comic Con last Friday.
The panel includes Rami Malek (Elliot), Carly Chaikin (Darlene), Portia Doubleday (Angela), Christian Slater (Mr. Robot), Martin Wallstrom (Tyrell Wellick) and the show's creator Sam Esmail. Esmail didn't want to spill much about the upcoming second season of "Mr. Robot." Even casts are actually curious. "Sam gets scared when he's in close quarters with us," Chaikin shared. "Literally the entire car ride here, I was trying to predict Season 2."
Esmail said chuckling, "When I tell them I don't want to talk about Season 2, they interpret that as I do want to talk about Season 2."
Slater suggested, "When I tell them I don't want to talk about Season 2, they interpret that as I do want to talk about Season 2."
Nonetheless, audience managed to extract a bit of information as to what's in store for the series.
As per Entertainment Weekly, "Mr. Robot" Season 2 will tackle the origin of fsociety, including Darlene's connection to it and her relationship with Elliot. Slater is also coming back to reprise his role, Esmail confirmed. The character of Slater was revealed as just a part of Elliot's delusion when he's drugged.
The biggest tease from Esmail for the second season: "It gets really fucking dark. Really fucking dark." According to io9.com, Esmail has warned Malek that the next season is going to tough and so he needs to prepare for some more serious emotions.
"He came up to me and said it's going to be tough," Malek shared. "And I was like whoa, he never said that to me last season."
On a lighter note, Malek said, "I would like to eat something in the show and change my clothes. And I definitely want a Shayla flashback or two."
Esmail also revealed that "Mr. Robot" is going to be four seasons, five seasons max. Season 2 will be released in 2016.
