The "Tokyo Ghoul Collector's Edition" scheduled release will be delayed. The distributor, FUNimation Entertainment, explains the delay to fans who pre-ordered the particular edition of the anime series.
Anime News Network reports that FUNimation Entertainment has recalled all the "Tokyo Ghoul Collector's Edition" from all retailers because of its physical defects. The company confirmed on Tuesday the delay of its release. It has also removed the collector's edition from its website listing, although the company said that fans who have pre-ordered the said edition have nothing to worry because the transaction is still valid.
In a report, Retailer Robert's Anime Corner Store said that collector's edition of "Tokyo Ghoul" that were shipped to retailers have been recalled because of the physical defects issue. However, the regular edition and limited edition of the Anime series had been shipped on Tuesday as scheduled.
Fandom Post says that the regular edition and limited edition come in DVD/ Blu-ray Disc combo form. In addition, these editions have come also with new preview of the dub. The clips that are not included in the first season of the anime series are already added in this new release. It has also been revealed that the extras that are included in the disc are "Episode Commentaries, Kaneki in Black and White, Japanese Commercials, Promotional Videos, Preview Collection, Textless Opening Songs, Textless Closing Songs, U.S. Trailer, Trailers."
As for the plot, fans already have an inkling of the concept. The society in modern day Tokyo are living in fear of Ghouls- they are the mysterious creatures who have human forms but they desire to eat the human flesh. But then none of those things are important to Ken Kaneki- an ordinary young man who loves books, until he became one of them because of that "dark and violent encounter." Ken has become the first "Ghoul-human half breed." That begins the conflict of the story. " Trapped between two worlds, Ken must survive the violent conflicts of warring Ghoul factions, while attempting to learn more about Ghoul society, his newfound powers, and the fine line between man and monster."
