Motorola Moto X Pure Edition Review, Specs, and Price: Available at Best Buy, Features Gestures and Voice

The Motorola Moto X Pure Edition is currently available for purchase from Best Buy in white, black or bamboo options. The new phone starts at $399 for 16GB of storage, which also comes with the option to add more storage through a microSD card. An extra $25 would be charged for a bamboo back panel and $50 for a 32GB built-in storage.

Although devices from Motorola are not a huge seller like other brands, the 32GB black and white coated silicon rubber (CSR) models and the 16GB and 32GB models with the bamboo backing are already sold out from the Best Buy website. But the least expensive models, 16GB black CSR model for $399 are still available, Phone Arena reported.

One impressive feature of the phone is its gesture controls dubbed Moto Actions, wherein the Moto Display is revealed when there is movement, allowing you a glimpse of your phone to check notifications through the icons on the screen. Double twisting the phone will let you access the camera. When it is launched, double twist it again to change it from the rear camera to the front camera.

Aside from that, the flashlight, which is a very useful feature, can be accessed simply by doing a chopping motion with the phone. One can also activate a discrete command mode that enables the Moto app, Android Central reported.

The phone features a TFT LCD displays and sports a 5.7-inch screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 using an extremely sharp Quad HD resolution. Phone Edition runs on Snapdragon 808 processor and Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

As for its battery life, Android Authority said in a review that it lasted 12 to 13 hours and needed to be charged again, manifesting that it isn't the perfect device for gamers because of the short battery life, despite its 3,300mAh battery.

Picture quality from the phone is great using a 21-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture on the rear and a 5MP wide-angle lens on the front.

Moto Voice is another good feature of the phone which allows you to dictate voice commands and customize the experience with your own key-phrase. It is best used for navigation without the need to touch the phone like when you are driving.
