Zombie Action Survival Game ‘Dying Light‘ Demo Now Available on Steam for Free; Offers 3 Hours of Unique Content and Supports On-Line Co-Op Play

A free demo for the survival game, Dying Light, was released by Techland on Steam yesterday. Dying Light's demo "offers three hours of unique content" that covers most of the slum areas. It has one story quest and a number of other side quests, random encounters, actions and challenges. All of the core game elements can be found in it, which include creative brutality, gore, crafting, day or night cycle, and the parkour-based Natural Movement system, which gives the survival game its appeal and special charm. It likewise supports online co-op play for up to four players.

Steam has this to say about the demo:

"Download the demo and get a taste of hair-rising zombie action in Dying Light. Master your parkour skills and enjoy unprecedented freedom of movement. Explore a true open world where you can go anywhere and climb anything. Experience game-changing day & night system and take on hair-rising quests in 4-player co-operation. Good Night, Good Luck."

The demo can be downloaded now for either PlayStation 4 at 9.8GB and Xbox One at 11.47GB.

Dying Light is a decent zombie action survival game presented in a first person perspective. The survival game is set in a dangerous and vast open world. The player roams an urban environment plagued by a mysterious epidemic, searching for supplies and crafting weapons that will help him defeat "the hordes of mindless." While Dying Light first came out on Jan. 27, it has already sold more than five million copies all over the world. Many of Dying Light's sales are on PC where the game can be modded easily.

While it may be a bit unusual for a demo of Dying Light to be released in less than a year after its release, Techland has clarified it is not done with the survival game yet. Last July, Techland announced the first expansion, 'The Following', which will add a new and open environment, plus various new implements of zombie splattering, and that includes a dune buggy. Half-hour of the 'The Following' gameplay was showed off by Techland to Twitch just last week.
