Ten houses were produced by a large-scale 3D printer in 24 hours, and the raw material is construction waste.

Over the past few decades, 3D printing technology has expanded and became more useful in our daily lives. From 3D-printed face masks to 3D-printed artificial hands, 3D technology has indeed come a long way.

But in 2021, for the first time in history, a 3D-printed house is now up in the market for only $299,999.

What is a 3D Printed House?

The mindblowing idea is pioneered by SQ4D - a company composed of engineers, designers, architects, and housing experts committed to providing affordable, quality, and sustainable housing structures using automated building methods.

The 3D-printed house is built with the help of a gigantic 3D printing machine. The device melts down solid materials and cast out the design like a hot glue gun.

SQ4D would only need six to eight hours to set up its Autonomous Robotic Construction System at the building site. The machine will layer concrete layer by layer from the footing, house foundation to the interior and exterior walls.

Based on the behind-the-scenes video, the device uses the same method of manually building concrete by dispensing cement in line to create walls. At least two employees are assigned to monitor the machine as it prints the house for at least eight or nine days.

First 3D Printed House

The company just launched its first 3D printed house located in Riverhead, New York, made out of 3D-printed cement. Designed by a Manhattan-based engineering firm, H2M, the house is now named the "world's first 3D printed home for sale."

The 1,407 square-foot house features three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a two-car garage.

It has 8-feet tall walls and an arched timber ceiling, which provides more height to the house.

The 3D printed house is complete with a living room, dining room with island and marble countertop and farmhouse sink, and an open kitchen.

It also comes with anything you can find in a traditional house, such as airconditioning, gas heating, dishwasher, and cabinetry. The master's bedroom comes with a two-door closet and a bathroom with a standing shower and lit vanity.

The grey-painted house boasts a meticulous carefully-designed garden and a small front sitting area.

Low Construction Cost

The first 3D painted house worth $299,999 located in Long Island is an excellent deal as homes in the same area would typically cost $478,380, as per Realtor.com.

Brokers said that the mindblowing house's introductory price is 50% below the cost compared to newly constructed homes in Riverhead. It will surely fit the budget of potential buyers in America.

Future of Real Estate

SQ4D director of operations Kirk Andersen believes that their 3D printed house is the real estate industry's future.

"What we want to do is print homes fast, and cheap and strong," Andersen said.

"I want people to not be afraid of automation...it is just a different tool and different method. But it's still the same product; we are still building a house at the end of the day," he added.
