Together with Joe Biden, Kamila Harris historically takes over the office on Wednesday as the new President and Vice President of the United States.

A part of their duty is to move residences throughout their term in office. While the newly elected President will take over the White House, Harris and her husband, Douglas Emhoff, moves into Biden's former crib, the Naval Observatory.

Kamila Harris' Vice Presidential House

The Vice President's version of White House is a 9,150-square-foot mansion with six-bedroom.

According to the White House website, in 1974, the Naval Observatory, which boasts a Queen Anne-style house, was declared the incumbent vice president's official residence. The 12-acre property sits at the 72-acre ground of the US Naval Observatory.

The three-story building is easily recognizable with its white paint, blue roof, and green shutters. The house exterior is made of brick and wood and features a wrap-around veranda porch.

According to WhiteHouseMuseum.org, the Vice Presidential house's ground floor is composed of a reception hall, living room, sitting room, two lounges, garden room, garage, a dining room with fireplace.

Meanwhile, the book "Number One Observatory Circle" by Charles Denyer states that an office, den, and two bedrooms could be found on the second floor of the VP's official residence.

Three additional bedrooms are on the third level, while the main kitchen and staff quarters are at the basement level.

Outside lies a backyard with vine-covered gazebo and a heated swimming pool. While Harris' newfound home seemed enormous for her and Emhoff, it is actually a "downgrade" for the couple who owns a whopping $8 million real estate portfolio.
