"Vampire Diaries" actress Nina Dobrev might be taking the announcement of Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder's engagement a bit harder than we initially thought. In fact, she seems to be against it because the "Twilight" actress isn't good enough for her former flame?
Per a new report published by Hollywood Life, Dobrev has taken to social media to share her opinion.
The 26-year-old beauty posted a recent Instagram message that slams the newly engaged Reed. Quoting F. Scott Fitzgerald, the
"Why don't you tell me that "if the girl had been worth having, she'd have waited for you?" no sir, the girl really worth having won't wait for brunette posted the following message:anybody."
If one carefully dissects the quote, the publication believes Nina may be talking about her split with her co-star/ ex-boyfriend and how she's not going to be waiting around for her former flame.
The "Twilight" actress and Ian Somerhalder, 36, who have been dating for about six months, were engaged last week. Speaking to Us Weekly, Reed confirmed the wedding bells and gushed over her main man.
"He's so beautiful inside and out!" revealed the 26-year-old beauty to Us. "He's quite possibly the most amazing man that's ever walked the planet, it's crazy. I'm so lucky, I love him."
Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev dated for three years until their split in May of 2013. Nikki, on the other hand, has just finalized her divorce from Paul McDonald, whom she married July 2011, over the year-end holiday.
ET Online reports that Somerhalder refused to waste time and following the finalization of Reed's divorce, the 36-year-old hunk was allegedly seen shopping for an engagement ring. True enough, he did eventually popped the question.
The two celebrities are a match in heaven as they quickly settled into a domestic partnership. They've adopted horses as well as a kitten and ET! claims they have plans on building a production company.
"We love our animals so much," said the actress to Us. "Since the time I could walk, I was doing all these fosters, rehabs, and rescues. My mom and I have done this together, and it was natural to continue it."
Prior to Reed and Somerhalder's romance, the two actresses were quite close. Following the romance between her ex and friend, Nina and Nikki are believed to have drifted apart.
