NBA Trade: Lance Stephenson to Miami Heat, Jeremy Lin to Suns? [Rumors]

The NBA trade deadline is just a couple of weeks away, and many players are expected to make the great leap to another team. Many teams and general managers have expressed their interests to acquire some of the best players that could be in the trade block.

While some teams are eyeing key players from other teams, some, like Lance Stephenson from Charlotte Hornets, might be better off without the team after he did not fare well in the last season, reports Michael Lee from the Washington Post

The Hornets was rueful in signing Stephenson to a three-year deal last summer. His addition to the team did not blend with the other players. In fact, his absence due to a pelvis injury has led to his team's success.

On the one hand, Lee said that the Miami Heat could look into tapping Stephenson for the team. He said that the team could use Stephenson's "fiery personality" to give Heat the boost and possibly end its drought.

On the other, Lee pointed out that Indiana Pacers might also be a possibility for Stephenson. But the Hornets star isn't the only one making headlines when it comes to trade.

Perhaps one of the most talked about players in the trade block is Jeremy Lin.

The Los Angeles Lakers point guard could be traded off as the team tries to set up for free agency this year, according to Sports World Report.

The Lakers is looking for a "major upgrade" to replace the 26-year-old player since he has an expiring contract.

The latest rumor to go around is the possibility that Lin could make the big leap to the Phoenix Suns, according to a post by Christian Today. But the news is yet to be confirmed.

Rumors that Lin would be transferring to Heat have been dispelled over salary constraints, reports International Business Times. The Heat would have to match Lin's salary of $8.3 million and that seems to be unlikely since the team was already at its tax threshold.

Latin Post noted that the Lakers was not benefitting from Lin's play. According to the article, Lin could be a good addition to the Miami Heat, which only ranked 27th out of 30 teams in assist.

Analysts said that Lin, who has earned the moniker "Linsanity" for his incredible plays, could provide a more "balanced attack" to Heat's offense, which at presents ranks 25th in scoring. Even Dyawne Wade and Mario Chalmers could not help keep the team afloat.
