Best Christmas Movies 2014: Top Films on Netflix & Amazon

Foods and gifts are all well and good during Christmas, but a good movie is still part of tradition. Some might appreciate a few of the best Christmas movies from Netflix and Amazon, as PC Mag reported.

PC Mag released a list of their recommended Christmas movies and all of them are available and easily accessible on Netflix and Amazon Instant, perfect for some holiday streaming.

Some of their recommended flicks from Netflix include "White Christmas" (1954), "Ernest Saves Christmas" (1988), "Scrooged" (1988), "While You Were Sleeping" (1995), "Love Actually" (2003), "Bridget Jones - The Edge of Reason" (2004) and "Happy Christmas" (2014).

Some films good for kids are "The Nightmare Before Christmas" (1993), which is both a Halloween and Christmas movie for kids, and "The Muppet Christmas Carol" (1992), featuring the Muppets and Michael Caine.

From Amazon Instant, viewers can look to "A Christmas Carol" (1938), "The Bells of St. Mary's" (1945), "Trading Places" (1983) and "Bad Santa" (2003).

Those from Hollywood Reporter have also recommended their list of holiday themed films, and all of them are available for viewing online, which will save viewers from having to rent or buy them.

The ones available on Amazon are "Home Alone" (1990) and "Home Alone 2" (1992), both starring Macaulay Culkin; "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" (2000) which features Jim Carrey as the vile Mr. Grinch; and "Elf" (2003) starring Will Ferrel as a human raised by elves.

On Netflix, "All I Want for Christmas" (1991) starring Thora Birch and Ethan Embry is available; and other films that can be watched online are "It's A Wonderful Life" (1946) and "Miracle on 34th Street" (1947).

Binge-watching franchises is also a great way to spend time with friends and family, according to The Huffington Post.

A James Bond marathon might be a good choice, looking through the likes of "Live and Let Die," "Never Say Never Again" or "Skyfall."

"Pirates of the Caribbean" is perfect for those interested in sword fighting, pirate lingo and a good dose of Captain Jack Sparrow. "Kill Bill" series Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 might be a bit on the brutal side, but the action scenes may still be something that the family might enjoy.

Other films that are worth mentioning are romcoms "Sleepless in Seattle" (1993) and "You've Got Mail" (1998), both of which stars Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan and the hilarious movie, "Zoolander" (2001).
