Celebrity Homes: Tyler Perry Finally Sold Atlanta Mansion for $17.5M

Writer and director Tyler Perry just added being a real estate mogul in his resume after selling his Atlanta mansion for $17.5 million. According to Ellle Décor, it was reported that the French Provincial mansion broke the record for the most expensive residential sale in the history of Atlanta. According to reports, the previous highest sale in the city was an estate that was sold for $10.5 million in 2009.

In the feature of Variety, the estate has a total area of 34,688 square feet and it has a total of seven bedrooms and 11 full bathrooms. It features a double-height foyer with wrought iron railed and there is also a stunning staircase and a chandelier that is the size of a car. The foyer leads into another double-height reception area where there are tall glass doors that open to the terrace that overlooks the lake-sized swimming pool and the well-maintained grounds.

Next is the adjoining dining room that is decorated with hand-painted mural and also has double-height ceilings. The large family room has a second staircase which leads to the upper level private quarters. The family room also connects to the double-island kitchen that is designed with elaborate cabinetry and equipped with top-of-the-line appliances. There is also a large library that has paneled walls and a carved stone fireplace. Listing details also reveal that the home also has an underground ballroom with catering kitchen. There is also a fully equipped fitness center and spa. Somewhere in the house is also a professional-grade home theater with tiered seating and groin vaulted ceiling.

Outside the main mansion there are also a caretaker's suite and a guardhouse. The description details also describe something called a hobby house along with a lighted tennis court atop a double-decker parking garage. The property was said to be protected with high end security system to give the residents privacy and comfort.
