'Ant Man' 2015 Movie Trailer, Cast & Release Date: Plot Details Revealed

Marvel has finally released details about the plot of the upcoming movie "Ant-Man" after the film's shooting has concluded in the past week.

Paul Rudd, who plays Ant-Man, joins Michael Douglas and Evangeline Lilly in bringing to life the story of one of Marvel's most popular comic characters and a founding member of The Avengers in a film set to be released in July 2015.

On Dec. 6, "Ant-Man" director took to Twitter to announce the conclusion of the much-awaited flick's production.

New details released by the studio revealed that "Ant-Man," master thief Scott Lang's alter ego, would need to go on a heist to save the world using his remarkable ability to shrink to the size of an ant while enhancing his strength, International Business Times reported.

The synopsis, according the outlet is as follows:

"The next evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time with Marvel Studios' Ant-Man. Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world."

ArsTechnica.com noted that this particular movie is one of Marvel's riskiest one yet as it was made during the wake of the loss of its original director as well as the lack of familiarity with the character and the "messy background" of the film.

Earlier this year, Marvel Studios and "The Shaun of the Dead" director Edgar Wright announced that they would not be working on the film together anymore due to "differences in their vision of the film," said Wired.

Though its original release date was retained, the announcement has become one of the major setbacks for the production of the film which was immediately sped up after new director Peyton Reed took over six months ago. Rudd himself revised several parts of the film's script.

Actress Lilly would play the love interest Hope Van Dyne while Douglas would star as Dr. Hank Pym.

Marvel also announced the rest of the cast, according to Coming Soon, which includes Corey Stoll as Darren Cross also known as Yellowjacket, Bobby Cannavale who would be playing the role of Paxton, Michael Peña as Luis, Judy Greer starring as Maggie, Tip "Ti" Harris as Dave, David Dastmalchian as Kurt, Wood Harris playing the role of Gale, and Jordi Mollà as Castillo.

No trailer is out yet but here's a sneak peek.
