Airbnb Rentals: Icons of the '60s Open Luxury Properties for Per Night Rental

Although not everyone appears to be thrilled with Airbnb's offers, given also the number of pleas from activists, the website has somewhat been successful. In fact, it has earned 55 percent of total votes against strict provision of regulations on Airbnb properties, most especially its temporary rentals.

The following are some of the best properties which are on Airbnb. These used to be homes of the most famous celebrities in the 60s, like:

"Cleopatra" Elizabeth Taylor

For those who wish to experience the same glamour that Taylor had, her old home can be rented in the neighborhood of Las Palmas in Palm Springs for $625 per night, Bisnow reported. The 4-bedroom home provides a lot of luxurious amenities such as spa, swimming pool and mountain views.

"White Christmas" Bing Crosby

Crosby's fans can now stay for a night in the icon's former home located in Palm Springs for $675.  The hacienda measuring 3,200 square feet was restored, including its classic feel. Its outdoor pool can hold about 30 people, while the 8'x15' screen in the living room can take in any classic movie, with full surround sound.

"Monterey Pop" Jimi Hendrix

The 1970's rock icon used to live in a private home in Hawaii, where his fans can now stay for a night at a rate of $165. His Gingerbread House has undergone remodeling, but still provides privacy to the guests.  It has a simple kitchen, but no bedroom since it was meant to be a getaway place for couples only.

"The Merv Griffin Show" Merv Griffin

Griffin's former property can be rented for $6,690 a night. As costly as it sounds, the renters may receive a lot of surprises in return. The media mogul's property is a 13-bedroom home which is inspired by Moroccan features and situated on the 39 acres of La Quinta, California. Aside from its 5,400 square foot main residence, there are also four visitor pods as well as a couple of guesthouses, which are comfortable enough to accommodate 16 more guests, Time reported.
