Celebrity Homes For Sale: Lakers Co-Owner Jim Buss Sells Los Angeles Penthouse for $8.8M

Lakers co-owner Jim Buss has listed his penthouse located at the Ritz-Carlton Residences Los Angeles for $8.8 million. According to Los Angeles Curbed, Buss bought the property in 2013 for $4.05 million. The 4,300-square-foot space has a total of three bedrooms and three full bathrooms.

LA Times reports that the property also features wide plank wood floors and floor-to-ceiling wall windows which offer stunning views of the downtown skyline and the coastline. It is also decorated with Swarovski chandeliers and custom Italian cabinets in its remodeled kitchen.

The kitchen also has impressive high-end appliances as it is fully equipped with Gaggenau appliances, and there is also an elegant kitchen island. Inside, there is a formal entry, living room, dining room and an office. The place comes with a pair of parking spaces, and the residents can also enjoy the building's amenities like the rooftop swimming pool, fitness center and concierge services.

The building boasts its location because it is at the epicenter of Los Angeles' premiere entertainment and sports buildings like The Staples Center, Nokia Theatre and the Grammy Museum. It is also near some of the world-class restaurants and clubs downtown Los Angeles has to offer.

Buss is known as one of the children of the late businessman and Lakers owner Jerry Buss. He was president of the Los Angeles Lazers professional indoor soccer team from 1985 to 1989. He joined the Lakers in 1998 as an assistant general manager. In 2005 he was promoted to vice president of baseball operations in 2005 and became co-owner of the team via a family trust after his father died in 2013. Jim shares the ownership of the team with his sister Jeannie Buss and their four other siblings as they share 66 percent of the interest in the team.
