The winter season dictates to be one of the most problematic seasons for our budding greens. And coordinated with this season is our many preparations to protect our plants. Sometimes garden keepers increase the indoor temperature of their greenhouses to combat the coldness or use garden sleeves to help keep the snow off the plants. But what are the other proven ways to help our plants survived the snowy season?

House Beautiful shares three tips that homeowners can do to help their greens outgrew winter.

1. Move Plants Away from Radiators

While we are noting the differences in the temperature and completely regulating the heat in our greenhouses. We should not let our plants stay on areas that are completely affected by the sudden temperature changes outside.

As advised by the outlet, "Houseplants like an even temperature and not an overheated room that drops dramatically overnight. For this reason avoid putting plants on a window sill that will become very cold at night. If possible move plants away from radiators and drafts as both will cause damage."

2. Choose the Best Environment

Which type of environment does your plant healthily grows? Or what fertilizers help your plant produce more? Which area does your plant stops growing? According to the article, knowing these indications and adjustments will help your plant grow its finest amidst the cold weather.

"Add more moisture to tropical ones by misting frequently or stand the pot on a saucer filled with gravel and a little water. Keep temperatures warmer for desert plants. Cyclamen and Azaleas are not happy in high temperatures, though African violets, Steptocarpus (Cape primrose) and Poinsettias are. Tough foliage like Yucca, Palms and Aspidistra are better in cooler rooms," the article added.

3. Provide them With Tender Loving Care

The winter season sets you to provide more time with your greens and coupled with this are extra acts of love for your plants like "dusting off the leaves with a soft cloth" or maintaining a moist area when the soil gets dry.
