New York Real Estate: Woodcliff Manor Where JP Morgan Jr. Was Born Listed for $5.88M

The former home of the Morgan family is now listed for $5.88 million.

According to Realtor, listing agent Vanessa Saunders revealed that the place was built for the renowned family during the 1950s, and it is also the birthplace of the famous J.P. Morgan Jr.

The 8,500-square-foot mansion sits on a total of 4.13 wooded acres of land and is located in Irvington, New York. The current owner of the property is now deceased, but it was reported that they spent many years in restoring the property.

The manor has a combination of contemporary style and Victorian charm. The residence has a total of eight bedrooms, six full bathrooms and seven and a half bathrooms. Although the property is already on the market, the current family is still working on installing the final fireplace restoration. Aside from that, other original elements of the house were also restored through the years, like the wooden doors and the hidden staircase from the first floor which leads to one of the bedroom suites.

Aside from the residence which is also called the Woodcliff Manor, 11,160 square feet of corporate office space is also located on the lower level of the property. Saunders revealed that the property has drawn interest from different private companies and other groups for short-term housing for business trips and dignitaries. The corporate space could also be leased depending on what the new owner prefers. The corporate space offers a parking space which can accommodate a maximum of 50 cars.

Listing details of the property also reveal that the place is perfect for retreats and trainings, and the Chef's kitchen is designed for catering. The house also includes a waiter to the office level. There is a two-bedroom staff apartment on the third floor with an attic above.
