Home Design: Before & After Look at a Forgotten Family Room Designed by Stacey Cohen

Interior designer Stacey Cohen recently transformed the look of what was once a forgettable family room into a sophisticated area at home.

According to Elle Décor, Cohen worked her wonders on the living room's fireplace and cabinets that were found in family room of one of her client's homes. Originally, the client's fireplace was positioned in what seemed like an awkward angle. However, moving it could have brought out even more problems to the already small space.

Despite of this hang-up, Cohen knew in an instant that she wanted to transform the room into a simple and clean place.

"The goal for the room was to be sophisticated and timeless," she said.

Meanwhile, Cohen also wanted to make sure that the cabinets in the room will look different from what it was like before. As such, she decided to start off her project by integrating a hand-sculpted silver leaf cabinet. She also covered the fireplace with a stunningly beautiful limestone that was designed by Maro Bianco.

At the end of her project, Cohen took before and after pictures of the living room, and the changes are quite obvious. Not only did the living room look more spacious; it also appeared to be cleaner and fresher than what it was before. Some parts of the living room also have beautiful paintings as seen in the photos of Kevin Sparkman.

In other news, on Cohen's official website, it was revealed that the interior designer is well known for enhancing architectural spaces into beautiful living and work environments. Cohen also makes it a point to closely collaborate with her clients by making sure that their needs, visions and inspiration are also kept in check.

"A personal, collaborative connection with our client is how we ensure design comes to life," her website noted.
