Celebrity Real Estate: Former Alaskan Governor Sarah Palin is Selling Scottsdale Home for $2.499M

The luxury home of the former Alaskan Governor and one-time Republican vice-president nominee Sarah Palin is now available in the market for $2.499 million.

The almost 8,000 square feet gated estate in Scottsdale, Arizona features a blend of Santa Barbara, Tuscan and Spanish styles.

According to the listing, the home has six bedrooms, six and a half bathrooms, and a six-car garage. In-house amenities include a bonus/game room, a separate workshop, a wine cellar, a media room, guest quarters with a separate entrance, and a great room. The exterior of the property features balcony/deck(s), sport court(s), a private yard, a patio, a gazebo/ramada, covered patio(s), a circular drive, a children's play area, and a built-in grill station.

The Los Angeles Times reported that the property also has a resort-themed backyard as well as other amenities, including a fireplace off the covered patio, a fire pit, a pool, a spa, and a water-saving synthetic lawn. The LA Times also stated that one of the two master suites of the home has a rooftop deck.

According to the report of CBS News, the five-acre compound was bought by Safari Investments LLC, a company in which Sarah Palin was a part of in 2011, for $1.7 million. Palin and her family have done several upgrades to the property when they took possession of the home. Several renovations include new windows and a revamped backyard.

Richard Barker, a real estate agent at Keller Williams Arizona Realty in Fountain Hills, represents the Palin family in the listing. Barker said that Palin bought the home in Arizona as a second home, but the family has decided that it is just too big for them. Barker also commented that he has no idea whether Palin is still part of the Safari Investments LLC.

Palin resigned from her post as the Governor of Alaska in 2009, and has not taken any public office since then. She was chosen by Sen. John McCain of Arizona as his running mate for the 2008 presidential election.
