Industrial Chic: The New Fad in Bedroom Design This Fall

As the hottest summer on earth makes its way for the fall, Zillow has just announced Industrial Chic the latest new trend for bedroom design.

What is Industrial Chic?

Matching bedroom sets, bold patterns and colors, wall-to-wall carpeting, limited polished wood furniture - that's industrial chic.

The most important elements of industrial chic are:

1. Reclaimed or raw wood

2. Nickel or brass-finish lightings

3. Warm neutral.

Zillow declared industrial chic the trend of this fall only after it found a large number of people gravitating towards the unique design element. More than 58 percent of the visitors on Zillow Digs, dug Industrial chic elements pinning them on their design boards and of the 58 percent, nearly 44 percent posted natural wood and neutral colors to their bedrooms board.

Another trend catching up in the bedroom interior department is increased seating and more TVs, according to Detroit News.

"There aren't a lot of private spaces for people in homes with open floor plans. This provides a grownup retreat for them to have a little quiet time or watch a movie," Liza Hausman, vice president of Community for Houzz.com, told the publication adding that Showy headboards have become a rage as well because they complement the neutral paint of the walls.

Home interiors seem to be making a bolder shift. The soft whites and lilacs are being replaced with strong shades of grey, black and purple. The Yin is replacing the Yang effect in terms of color.

More recently, a feature on the Wall Street Journal found that the kitchen is being dominated over by the color Black.

"Black is the new white," and apparently its "badass" the feature notes.

Also, the love for neutrals is going to be carried forward to the next year. Any neutral color - be it a gray, crème or a brown - will be a stylish option for interiors in 2015. Neutral colors are usually infused in the interiors to balance the environment of the home. Olive Green and soft gray are going to be the hottest neutrals the coming year.
