'NCIS' Season 13 Episode 12 Spoilers: Return Episode Will Feature Crossover With 'NCIS: New Orleans'

After the intense scenes from the mid-season finale of "NCIS" Season 13, the show's return episode has been confirmed to be a crossover with another spinoff series, "NCIS: New Orleans," and it will premiere in January 2016.

According to Yibada, the two crime shows will crossover in an episode as the two Naval Criminal Investigative Services from Washington and New Orleans will be working together on a "complicated case." According to the site, the official synopsis for "NCIS" Season 13 episode 12 will introduce Abby's (Pauley Perrette) brother, Luca, after he finds himself in a dangerous situation as the passengers on the plane he was on duty on were found dead.

Christian Today reports that Luca will be played by actor Tyler Ritter. Luca is said to be the link between the two shows. Showrunner Gary Glasberg said that Ritter is perfect for the role as he embodies everything that they were looking for in the character. In the previous seasons, the character was featured in a flashback scene, but this will be the first time the character will debut as an adult.

It was reported that Luca serves as a chef on a private plane carrying passengers who are members of a private tech company from New Orleans to Washington DC. It was said that the passengers will be poisoned with the food that they had on the plane, and since Luca is the chef, he becomes the primary suspect in the mass murder.

The crossover episodes will be divided into two parts, with the first part showing on "NCIS" Season 13 episode 12, while the second part will air on "NCIS: New Orleans" Season 2 episode 12. In part 2, the agents will be looking into a link between a Russian sleeper agent and Luca.

"NCIS" Season 13 episode 12 will air on CBS on Jan. 5, 2016.
