‘Downton Abbey Season 6’ Finale Spoilers: Farewell Episode This Christmas Shows Who Ends Up with Who; Tidbits and Updates

The period drama will be wrapped up this Christmas after the finale episode airs.

Moreover, the finale episode is set to show how the characters will bid goodbye to each other. More importantly, the last episode of the series will show who ends up with who. Fans will be expecting that their favorite couples will end up together. The promo for the said episode shows that it will be one tear-jerker finale.

This episode will focus on New Year’s Eve, according to IBTimes. And it will show how the characters who found it hard to live with the changes will actually start to accept that they are living in the modern times.

“The world is a different place from the way it was, my lord. And Downton Abbey must change with it,” Mr. Carson (Jim Carter) tells Robert (Hugh Bonneville).

Moreover, some of the characters who already left the series will be coming back for one final goodbye such as Rose (Lily James).

Fans are sad about the ending of the series. According to The Bit Bag, a comment on a Youtube video says, “I do not want this series to end! I feel as if they’re all part of my extended family [sic].”

Downton Abbey is a British period drama television series created by Julian Fellowes and co-produced by Carnival Filmsand Masterpiece. It is set in the fictional Yorkshire country estate of Downton Abbey and talks about the lives in post-Edwardian era of Crawley family and their servants. It airs on ITV in United Kingdom and on PBS in the United States.

The series finale will air on December 25 for British viewers. While American fans will still have to wait for the airing of the final season which premieres on January 3, 2016. This means that the Christmas special will be aired in the US sometime on March 2016.
