Michael Jordan’s Ex-Wife Sells Chicago Triplex Penthouse for $3.2 Million

Michael Jordan, the NBA superstar veteran, may not be an ace at real estate but his ex-wife Juanita Vanoy surely is one. She reportedly sold off the triplex penthouse on Lake Shore Drive Building in Chicago for $3.2 million.

Vanoy is a licensed real estate agent and represented the home herself. The Chicago Tribune first spotted the change in the listing status. Vanoy and Jordan divorced in 2006 and she received the penthouse in the divorce deal. They purchased the condo unit when they were still married, shelling out $3 million in 2003.

Soon after their divorce, Vanoy moved to a large $4.72 million mansion in the River North neighborhood of the Windy City and listed the triplex penthouse in 2012 for $5 million. The home received two price cuts at $4.3 million and $4 million each, last listing in February this year.

Listing records show the home closed June 19, 2014. But the records don't identify the buyer yet.

The penthouse residence spans an area of 8,500 square feet and is comprised of four bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms. The residence has polished porcelain floors, rosewood walls and high ceilings. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer panoramic views of the city's skyline.

Four wet bars, a family room, a media room and a modern eat-in kitchen are some of its exclusive features. There is a top floor solarium as well.

The listing described the place as a "true" penthouse and claims that it is "one of a kind."

Meanwhile, Michael Jordan's Chicago mansion has had a lot of trouble being sold off. It was listed on the open market for $29 million; price chopped twice and then put under the hammer but failed to find takers even at two separate auction events last year. It is currently one the market for $16 million.

Jordan currently lives in Jupiter, Fla., with his model wife, Yvette Prieto. He recently expanded the house as he welcomed his twin girls with Prieto this February. Jordan also became the first billionaire of the NBA community, according to Fox News.
