Microsoft Lumia 950 XL News: No LTE Signal from AT&T Device? Fix It Now, Here's How!

Microsoft Lumia 950 XL owners are having some signal issues with their AT&T SIMS.  There should not be such an issue here since the Lumia 950 XL is designed to support a wide range of LTE bands, AT&T included.

Here are some things one can do if such an issue happens.

Lumia 950 XL users have immediately turned-on their phone without inserting their AT&T SIM. No one can really blame them out of excitement over the new phone.  A new phone, is a new phone.  Everybody seems to be in a hurry to make it operational and just get to feel the new smartphone.

When Lumia 950 XL users experience this, one needs to reset the phone back to its factory defaults, but before doing that, insert the AT&T SIM card first, Windows Central reported. The reason behind this is, the phone needs to configure the APN setting, which is  included in the initial setup process.  Without the SIM, the phone will not be able to set itself up properly.

Another possible reason is the lack of the International Mobile Station Equipment Identity (IMEI) numbers of their Lumia 950 XL devices from the master list of AT&T sold phones.  Given the fact that the new Lumia is sold through the Microsoft Store, AT&T will not have these IMEI.  Users will not be assisted by AT&T if the IMEI of a unit is not included in their master list.

The needed Lumia 950 XL trick is, use the IMEI number of the previous AT&T smartphone, as shared by other consumers. Some have even used the IMEI of the Lumia 950 floor model. Once AT&T has confirmed the IMEI number, they will then add it to their system and into the SIM card.

Microsoft Lumia 950 XL will be able receive that elusive LTE signal once this information has been updated, Phone Arena reported.
