'Flash' and 'Arrow' Cast for 'Legends of Tomorrow' Crossover Confirmed, Release Date Set on Januray 2016

"Arrow" and "The Flash" crossover will happen in the "Legends of Tomorrow" which is the newest superhero TV series that will feature more adventures for Arrow‘s Oliver (Stephen Amell) and The Flash‘s Barry Allen (Grant Gustin).

Aside from that, the episode will introduce new set of characters including its big villain, Vandal Savage to be played by guest star Casper Crump. The cast will also be joined by Caity Lotz as White Canary, Arthur Darvill as Rip Hunter, Brandon Routh as The Atom, Ciara Renee as Hawkgirl and Falk Hentschel as Hawkman. Dominic Purcell and Wentworth Miller will also join the show while Victor Garber will reprise his role as Dr. Martin Stein, Entertainment Weekly reported.

"There’s a lot of things that are really cool about this year’s crossover, one of which is the fact that there really is a true 2-part story unlike last year where it was two interconnected episodes where each had their own beginning, middle, and end," EP Marc Guggenheim said in an interview with Deadline.

"This is a big two-part event, one single bad guy, and it will very clearly launch 'Legends Of Tomorrow.' But at the same time what I think is a lot of fun about it is that it doesn’t feel like a backdoor pilot for 'Legends Of Tomorrow.' It feels like an episode of 'Flash' and then an episode of 'Arrow.' It truly is a 2-hour 'Flash/Arrow' event that just so happens to introduce us to some new characters that will be a big part of 'Legends Of Tomorrow,'" Guggenheim continued.

The two-part event will start with "The Flash" on the episode “Legends of Today” wherein Vandal Savage will be seen arriving in Central City and sees Jitters barista, Kendra Saunders (aka Hawkgirl). Vandal attacks Saunders (guest star Ciara Renée) and Cisco which made Barry decide to hide her at Star City with Team Arrow. But then Hawkman (guest star Falk Hentschel) will show up and flies off with Kendra.

The other side of the story will feature Arrow’s “Legends of Yesterday” where Oliver and Barry will hide Kendra and Carter Hall in a remote location so that Vandal will not find them while they figure out how to defeat him. Felicity, Thea, Diggle, and Laurel will work with Team Flash to design a weapon which is powerful enough to destroy Vandal.

“Most of the Flash episode takes place in Star City, and most of the Arrow episode takes place in Central City,” Amell told TVLine, via CheatSheet. “We have a common villain [in Vandal], which was not the case last year. And, just in general, we’ve done an excellent job of weaving not just two shows, but three shows together.”

Fans would need to watch both episodes because Amell revealed that when it is watched "back-to-back on one night, they would run like one two-hour episode of television.”

The "Legend of Tomorrow" is set to kick off in January 2016 while the two part crossover episodes aired Dec. 1 and 2 on CW.
