One of "Shameless" beloved characters is Fiona Gallagher and actress Emmy Rossum will be back for Season 6 to play the tough female sibling who is considered the "glue" of the family.
Showtime's "Shameless" is back for its sixth season and one the show's most important and badass characters is Fiona who is portrayed by Rossum. According to Daily Mail, "The Day After Tomorrow" actress is fully committed to her role and will be back for another run.
Fiona is the tough talking daughter of Gallagher patriarch Frank who tasks herself to take care of her younger brothers and sisters in the absence of their mother. She does this despite having issues of her own to deal with.
In the trailer released on Thursday, Fiona listens to her father Frank tell her and her other siblings how much he loves them. And in true Fiona fashion, she replies, "I don't know how much more of that I can take before I stab him in the neck with a broken beer bottle."
In another scene, Fiona is seen celebrating with Debbie (Emma Kenney) after they find out that the younger Gallagher is not pregnant. Lip Gallagher (Jeremy Allen White) is also seen continuing with his illicit relationship with an older professor who convinces him to try teaching. Fiona is also considering accepting the advances of her boss Sean Pierce (Dermot Mulroney) to go up the employment ladder but she is not too excited about it.
Meanwhile, in a post by The Hollywood Reporter, Rossum and her fiancé Sam Esmail the creator of breakout TV series "Mr. Robot" have left ICM Partners and signed with CAA.
"Shameless" Season 6 is slated to be released on Jan. 10 and will still feature Rossum as Fiona the eldest daughter of the Gallaghers.
