The New Metroid Game To Be Launched By Nintendo NX

"Metriod Prime" is one of the standout games in this generation. This game has been a smashed hit and became a Nintendo fan favorite.

According to iDigital Times, those fans who are expecting for a "Metroid" Wii U release would have to accept that it will not happen. However, the future of "Metroid" is bound to take its course in the new Nintendo NX.

It has been said that when E3 2015 came out and there was no console "Metroid" game, then it was already clear at that time that it is unlikely for it to be available in Wii U. A lot of fans were reportedly disappointed that the "Metroid Prime: Federation Force" which is the only "Metroid" game of the generation will only be released to Nintendo 3DS.

There were gamers who assumed that "Metroid" would be coming to Wii U since it has been known that Retro Studios is said to be working on a secret project. It has been reported that Nintendo already intends to continue the "3D Metroid Series" and along with that, "Shigeru Miyamoto wants Retro in particular to make more Metroid."

Last June, Eurogamer had the chance to interview Kensuke Tanabe, the "Metroid Prime" series producer revealed that there will be no home console for "Metroid Prime" not until the release of Nintendo NX.

Tanabe said, "If we started for Wii U now, it would likely take three years or so. So it would likely now be on Nintendo's NX console."

He added, "It's a long time but it would need to include a lot of content, which would take a lot of work on the development side."

Tanabe was likewise asked why Nintendo did not make a "Mertoid Prime" for Wii U, to which he gave a brief answer, "I haven't been able to collect a team or the resources to do it."

For now, the only thing that is clear is that there will be no "Metroid Prime" for Wii U and that Nintendo NX is fully committed to debut a strong launch for "Metroid NX."
