Nintendo Amiibo News: New Leaks Reveal More Retailer-Exclusive Amiibo Figures, Feature Timmy and Tommy Nook, Ryu & More

Photos believed to be promotional materials for Nintendo Amiibo figures surfaced earlier this week. It was said that the leaked Amiibo figures actually came from an exclusive retail store and feature some playable characters such as Timmy, Tommy Nook, Ryu and more, a report from Gamespot said on Monday.

"The newly discovered toys include Timmy & Tommy Nook from the Animal Crossing series and a Famicom variant of R.O.B. In addition, the leaked images provide a first look at the Ryu and Roy Amiibo figures. What's more, Amiibo figures for other Animal Crossing characters, Rover and Kapp'n, have been outed," the report said.

According to the report, the retail store Target is actually planning to sell both the "Timmy & Tommy" Amiibo toys while Roy will be sold exclusively by Gamestop. However, it was stressed that all the information sourced from the leaked promotional materials are not yet confirmed.

"The first one, Ryu, is not surprising: after all, Masahiro Sakurai himself announced that all Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS fighters (including the DLC characters) would get their own amiibo. It will (most likely) be officially announced during the upcoming broadcast for the game," Perfectly-Nintendo said.

"The second one, Famicom R.O.B., is a bit more surprising. It was originally released in Japan, while Europe and North America got the NES version. However, this indicates that Nintendo plans to release this figure outside Japan (at least, in North America). Just like Ryu, it will most likely be announced during the upcoming broadcast for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS," the report said.

What is certain though is that new details will be released by Nintendo during the "Super Smas Bros.-specific Nintendo Direct Broadcast" slated in December. It was said that the new Amiibo leaks come days after the company officially announced the new figures.
