Celebrity House For Sale: NHL Legend Craig Janney Places Scottsdale Home On The Market

Former NHL professional hockey superstar Craig Janney has recently put his house on sale. The ex-Boston Bruins center is asking for $2.4 million for his Scottsdale, Arizona home, which features 4,872 square feet of space that includes three bedrooms, four bathrooms, three-car garage, a large game room, and a basement, which, according to Realtor.com, is "unusual" for a house in Arizona.

Outside the property, residents are treated to "lush grounds, phenomenal patios, luxurious pool and pristine mountain views," according to the listing's description.

Janney and his wife Kim purchased the home back in 2013 for $1.62 million. Listing agent Robert Joffe said that the hockey player chose the three-story home partly for its neighborhood Arcadia, as the place exudes a Midwestern vibe, lots of grassy vegetation, and less desert. The property where the house sits is just a shade under an acre and is one of the three homes in the street.

Built in 2003, the Tuscan-style house at 6424 E Exeter Blvd is too large for the Janney family, Joffe speculates. The Janneys are currently seeking a smaller property, which indicates that the family is downsizing as their daughter Barrette is shipping off to college.

Janney entered the NHL 1987 as a the 13th overall draft pick by the Boston Bruins. He was also a member of the USA Hockey Team and played in the 1987 World Ice Hockey Championships, 1991 Canada Cup and the 1994 World Ice Hockey Championships. Janney spent 12 seasons in the NHL, until blood clots ended his career on a premature note. He last played for the New York Islanders.

Janney is known for his playmaking skills and puck distribution, according to Legends of Hockey.
"His creativity and knack for fooling defenders with an ability to find the open man made him one of the highest-scoring forwards in the 1990s," says the tributary page on Janney.
