Forbes List Highest Paid Actors: Robert Downey Jr., Jackie Chan, and More

Forbes was able to come up with a list of the highest paid actors worldwide. As per The Richest, the list was acquired though Nilsen, Box Office Mojo, and IMDB data. Aside from the websites, they also did research by asking people from the film industry.

Robert Downey Jr. - $220 million

A per the Celebrity Net Worth website, the actor-producer is worth $220 million as of 2015. His yearly average income is estimated to reach $28 million. The Iron Man actor started his film carrier at the age of 5. His was than recognized in his film roles on "Soapdish", "Chaplin", and "Less Than Zero."  Aside from his films, he gained popularity after he took on the role of Tony Stark, known as the Iron Man from "The Avengers." His character earned him a $50 million cut out of the box office take. "Iron Man 3" also landed him a bugger amount which was a great leap in increasing his net worth. He currently tops Forbes' Highest Paid actors for 3 consecutive years.

Jackie Chan

The Chinese actor is in second place on the list on Forbes' highest paid actors. As per Independent, the 61-year-old actor earned an estimated $50 million in last year alone. His latest film "Dragon Blade" that was not internationally released yet grossed $120 million in China alone. With Jackie Chan being the lead actor, he earned $10 million; and that is for China's screening alone.

Chan however doesn't earn from movies alone as he also earn from his branded merchandise, which is a cinema chain with his name on it along with a Segway dealership.

Co-Founder of New York Asian Film Festival, Grady Hendrix described Chan as China's Mickey Mouse stating:

"Jackie Chan is basically the Mickey Mouse of Chinese culture, a celebrity who is so omnipresent that his name has become shorthand,"

Vin Diesel

With a net worth of approximately $145 million, Vin Diesel landed the 3rd spot on Forbes' list. "The Fast and The Furious" actor increased his net worth from the earning he received from "xXx", "Saving Private Ryan" and the ever popular "The Fast and The Furious" franchise.
