"Outlander" Season 2 has recently introduced new actors and actresses who will be playing characters in the upcoming season of the Starz time traveler series. While many new faces have been introduced to fans and viewers, many are still awaiting for updates about a certain fan-favorite character, Brianna.

Showrunner Ron Moore previously revealed in a series of Twitter Q&A's with fans that the show still has not found its Brianna Randall. However, the recent announcement of Maeve Foley joining the cast in "Outlander" Season 2 made many fans believe that the actress will be playing the role of Brianna, Christian Today reported.

According to the outlet, Foley is pretty much similar to the way Brianna was described in Diana Gabaldon's second book. Brianna was said to be a tall woman in her early 20s with red hair and blue eyes. Foley's role in the series is yet to be announced.

Brianna will be introduced in the second season of "Outlander" as Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire's (Caitriona Balfe) daughter. However, the show has also made some changes, as Brianna will be taking after Frank's (Tobias Menzies) last name, instead of Jamie's.

Meanwhile, Sam Heughan recently expressed his disappointment over the Scottish BAFTA award nomination, which seemingly snubbed the Starz series, Daily Record reported. The 35-year-old actor congratulated the nominees for the said event, but added that he was disappointed to see that his show was overlooked.

Heughan said that he personally felt disappointed to see that "Outlander" was not nominated even though the show has reportedly boosted Scotland's tourism.

"Outlander" Season 2 is expected to premiere sometime in 2016 on Starz.
