‘Outlander’ Season 2 Spoilers: Will Jamie and Claire’s Relationship Survive? Diana Gabaldon Hopes to Change One Thing

"Outlander" Season 2 may still be months (or a year) away from returning to the small screens and while the upcoming season will be more political in nature, several exciting scenes ahead may further put Jamie and Claire's relationship to the test. Can they withstand it all?

Warning: Spoilers ahead! Read on if you want to learn more about the details of this story.

"Outlander" Season 2 will be covering Diana Gabaldon's second book, "Dragonfly in Amber," which will see Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) and Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe) try to change history and stop the Battle of Culloden from taking place. While fans are aware that the upcoming season will be taking on political and more serious issues, many began wondering how the couple's relationship will fare, especially with Frank Randall's (Tobias Menzies) return?

In the first season of "Outlander," fans barely saw Claire's husband, Frank except in its first few episodes. However, spoilers already reveal that Frank will be making a comeback in Season 2 and his return certainly spells trouble for Claire and Jamie.

Claire is already expecting her child with Jamie, but other spoilers reveal that Claire's daughter, Brianna, will be taking after Frank's surname, and not Jamie's. Carter Matt cited that Claire and Jamie have a couple of potential obstacles along the way that will put their relationship to the test, including the return of Jamie's former love interest.

"There are no more secrets; instead, there is a bond that travels between centuries," the article reads.

Meanwhile, author Diana Gabaldon stated that she would not change anything in her current eight-book series - from characters to scenes alike, Daily Record reported. However, she mentioned that she hopes to rewrite one thing - the Gaelic.

"I would rewrite the Gaelic in the first two books because I didn't have a good translator it is all very clumsy. But other than that I don't think I would change anything, no," she said.

"Outlander" Season 2 premieres in 2016 on Starz.
