"Walking Dead" Producer, Gale Ann Hurd Lists Santa Ynez Horse Ranch for $6.1 million

Gale Ann Hurd, the woman behind the production design of "Aliens" and "The Walking Dead," has reportedly listed her large ranch-style estate for $6.1 million.

According to Realtor.com, Hurd purchased the massive property for $7 million in 2008. However, looks like she is planning to flip it for a loss.

The listing records state that the ranch estate is spread across almost 50 acres of prime valley land. Popularly known as the "Vista Del Rio", the ranch has two houses. The main house has three bedrooms and four full and one half bathroom. A separate detached guesthouse comprising of two bedrooms is the other living unit. The homes have cathedral ceilings with hardwood and tile flooring. Open patios, decks and large rolling expanses of green mark the exteriors of the property.

Apart from the residential spaces, the estate has an 18-stall horse barn, a separate utility barn and an infinity pool as well.

The season finale of "The Walking Dead's" third season garnered a lot of  mixed reviews. In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, she comments about the upcoming season and reflects back upon the season finale of the third season.

"When we started out, we hoped it would appeal to fans of the comic book and genre fans, but I hear more and more people saying that they never thought they would ever become addicted to a show that features zombies - even though it's not about the zombies. It's only once they realized that "The Walking Dead" actually refers to the survivors that it all makes sense," Hurd said in the interview.

"The challenge this season is that we had to keep two completely separate story lines going. We had Woodbury, the Governor, obviously, Andrea's there, for the longest time Merle's there, for a while Michonne, as well as the prison. There are really a lot of characters and story to service. I think the writers did a fantastic job of walking that tightrope," she added.
