8 NYC Real Estate Bigwigs Who Made the Forbes 400 List

Making it to the 2015 Forbes 400 is harder than ever, says Forbes Staff Luisa Kroll. For the past 34 years that Forbes has monitored American wealth, this year's price of entry has been, so far, the highest at $1.7 billion. In 2014, the cut was pegged at $1.55 billion, making 145 U.S. billionaires miss the list this year.

Kerry Barger highlighted in his article for The Real Deal, eight real industry moguls from the Big Apple who made it to the annual roster. The list is headed by Related Companies' Chief Executive Officer, Stephen Ross. Richard LeFrak, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of LeFrak Organization, is the second New York-based developer to have made it to the top 100. Below is the complete list of these developers from NYC.

No. 182 Jeff Sutton - President, Wharton Properties (Net Worth: $3.4B)

No. 145 Sheldon Solow - CEO, Solow Management (Net Worth: $3.6B)

No. 124 Jerry Speyer - Chairman, co-CEO, Tishman Speyer (Net Worth: $4.4B)

No. 121 Donald Trump - Chairman and President, Trump Organization (Net Worth: $4.5B)

No. 114 Leonard Stern - Chairman and CEO, Hartz Group (Net Worth: $4.7B)

No. 107 Sam Zell - Chairman, Equity Residential (Net Worth: $4.9B)

No. 79 Richard Lefrak - Chairman and CEO, LeFrak Organization (Net Worth: $6.1B)

No. 71 Stephen Ross - CEO, Related Companies (Net Worth: $6.7B)

Kroll describes that combining all assets of the 400 wealthiest Americans would give a total worth of $2.34 trillion, up $50 billion from last year. List members have an average net worth of $5.8 billion, a record high, and $100 million more than that in 2014. A little more than half of those in the list, or 202 members, are worth more now than they were in the previous year. From the list in 2014, 119 members had a lower net worth in 2015.
