In the new episode of "Castle" Season 8, Richard (Nathan Fillion) investigates his idol's death while fixing his marital issues with Kate (Stana Katic). After the last episode's events, fans are now wondering if the couple will be going through a divorce.
According to Venture Capital Post, showrunners Alexi Hawley and Terence Paul Winter revealed that a divorce will not happen this season. In the previous episode, Kate asked Richard for some space despite them working together regarding a local college fraternity. The showrunners revealed that Kate will not be abandoning her marriage and only needs some time by herself.
In an interview, the showrunners assured fans that nobody is getting a divorce and that the couple is not splitting up for good. Hawley said that it is just some kind of obstacle that will make the couple stronger once they get through it. Winter added that Kate still wants to be with Richard and she is willing to fight for their marriage.
Hawley also revealed that the temporary split also broke Kate's heart. However, she reportedly thinks that it is the right thing to do to keep the people that she loves safe after the events that happened in the first part of the season.
Meanwhile, the couple will be handling a new case in the new episode, which will involve the death of an anti-social author which happens to be Richard's childhood idol. According to the synopsis posted by Cartermatt, Richard will do everything to solve the case, and what they will discover is "stranger than fiction." It was reported that Richard is determined to solve the case because he looked up to the author for a long time.
Despite their issues, it seems like Richard and Kate will still be spending some time together as they solve another case in "Castle" Season 8 episode 4. The new episode will air on ABC on October 12.
