The Sowden House in Los Angeles with connections to the famous Black Dahlia murder case is up for sale for $4.89 million.
The Mayan-themed house was designed by Lloyd Wright, Frank Lloyd Wright's son was built in 1927. The house was central to the murder case and has gone through many controversies, renovations and ghost hunters.
The house was owned for many years by Dr. George Hodel who was suspected of torturing and killed 22-year-old Elizabeth Short, aka Black Dahlia, in January, 1947.
"New Girl" and "500 Days of Summer" actress Zooey Deschanel and her boyfriend, Dear John screenwriter Jamie Linden are reported to have already toured the property. Photographer Jonzen Cousart tells WENN, "They were probably there for a good hour-and-a-half... It seemed like they were definitely looking to buy it."
The recognizable mansion, listed in the U.S. National Register of Historic Places, has previously featured in Martin Scorsese's 2004 movie The Aviator and was used as the residence of Timothy Dalton's character Neville Sinclair in 1991 film The Rocketeer.
The Black Dahlia crime remains one of the oldest unsolved murder cases in Los Angeles history.
