'Outlander' Season 2 Premiere Date & Spoilers: Lord John Grey’s Appearance on the Show Confirmed; Will He Have a Spinoff Show? Deleted Scene from Season 1 Unveiled

Various spoilers and details on the Season 2 of "Outlander," which is set to premiere next year, have been surfacing online, and a recent report claims that Lord John Grey, a character from the books on which the TV series is based, will finally be seen on the show. Meanwhile, a deleted scene from Season 1 where Jamie (Sam Heughan) comforts Claire (Caitriona Balfe) was also recently unveiled.

According to Cartermatt, showrunner Ronald D. Moore has confirmed that the character Lord John Grey will be featured in Season 2 of "Outlander." The report states that the character is an integral part in Diana Gabaldon's book "Dragonfly in Amber," on which the TV series is based.

Based on the character's description on Outlander Wikia, Lord John Grey is a "secondary character" in the "Outlander" series, and he first appears in "Dragonfly in Amber" as a young English soldier before the Battle of Prestonpans. He appears next as the governor of Ardsmuir Prison and becomes friends with Jamie. So far, no actor has been cast yet for Lord John Grey's role for Season 2.

While the character Lord John Grey has a book series of his own, showrunner Moore told Digital Spy that there's no spinoff show for the character just yet. He admitted though that it is in the back of their minds as a "potential thing," but he said that their focus now is on the second season of "Outlander."

Meanwhile, Entertainment Weekly has come up with an exclusive report on the deleted scene from "Outlander" Season 1. The video clip from the report shows Claire apprehensive about Jamie running an errand for the Duke of Sandringham and suggests for servants to do it instead of a "stable boy." Jamie responds by saying that he's not a mere stable boy but a Laird of Lallybroch, and he comforts Claire and gives her a kiss before leaving.

"Outlander" Season 2 will premiere on Starz in 2016. Meanwhile, "Outlander: Season One - Volume Two" is now out in Blu-ray and DVD.
