Air Force Gives Ultimatum To Nevada Property Owners Near Area 51 With Last Best Offer

The Blaze states that an ultimatum has been given to the property owners in a remote area of Nevada. The place is said to be surrounded by a vast bombing range aside from being near the super-secret Area 51.

One of the families who own in the place is the Sheahan family. The entire property has an offer of $5.2 million. It is said that one of these families is actually the descendant of a "couple who lost their hardscrabble mining enterprise after the Air Force moved in in the 1940s. Nuclear tests then began in 1951, their mine mill mysteriously exploded in 1954 and they ran out of money to seek reparations from the government in 1959."

Despite the "last best offer", the representative of the families have decided to decline the proposal. The main reason of these families is that they wanted to keep their property.

Yahoo News says the federal government is gradually surrounding the mine property (northwest of Las Vegas), which has a total area of (more or less) 400 acres. This reservation is said to have a land area that almost doubled the size of Delaware State.

In addition to the report, there are 20 co-owners of the said property. Joseph Sheahan, 54, who stands up for the group together with his cousin Barbara Sheahan Manning, says that they prefer to keep their property as of the moment. He admits that they want to sell the whole area as long as it is under the right price and right condition. He also said that what the government is buying from them is not just the property but also their access rights and their view.

The families are very firm with their decision in keeping their property, which means that the ultimatum has no effect on them. Thus, this will result to condemnation proceedings, and somehow it would also lead to "a "fair market value" determination that could end up in court for a long time."

The Air Force may urgently want the family to vacate their property in Nevada near Area 51 , offering the family the best proposal. Despite the "so-called" best offer and the ultimatum to seize the property, the families have decided to hang on to their property.
