‘Divergent: Allegiant’ Star Theo James Talks About Doing Intimate Scenes with Shailene Woodley

"Divergent: Allegiant" stars Theo James and Shailene Woodley share an undeniable chemistry in front of and behind the cameras. It really isn't a surprise to see both stars involved in a series of dating rumors, even though they are both seeing other people in real life. While a real life romance between Woodley and James are out of the picture for now, the 30-year-old actor revealed details about doing intimate scenes with Woodley.

Warning: Spoilers ahead! Read on if you want to learn more about the details of this story.

"Divergent: Allegiant - Part One" will see Shailene Woodley and Theo James back as Beatrice 'Tris' Prior and Tobias 'Four' Eaton, respectively. While the sequel to "Insurgent" is still months away from its release in theatres, James recently shared some interesting details about doing intimate scenes with Woodley.

"With Shai, as much as possible I just wanted to practice the kissing scene," James jokingly told Screen Crave. "We wanted it to be good and for it to fulfill the things it needed to fulfill, but to be real and not cheesy."

James revealed that his very first intimate scene with Woodley was shot twice because "the first time didn't feel quite right." James also thought it was "very refreshing" to meet Woodley for the very first time even though they both felt awkward.

The "Underworld" actor also described Tris and Four's relationship as something that's "interesting" because it is based on respect and not just on "lots of swooning." While fans are now even more eager to see Woodley and James back on screen, several fans began wondering if the "Allegiant" movie will stay true to Veronica Roth's series.

The "Divergent" series author responded to an ongoing petition to change the ending of the "Allegiant" movie and see Tris alive in an interview with Vulture. Roth said that such ending had to be made because it "was the way it needed to be told." Roth also shared that Woodley also thought that the ending was necessary to the story.

"Divergent: Allegiant - Part One" premieres on March 18, 2016.
