Elton John and David Furnish Sell Condo Fearing Son Zachary’s Safety

Musician Elton John and his partner David Furnish have sold their West Hollywood condo. They felt the house was not safe for their son Zachary.

The condo has been reportedly sold for a $4.65 million.

The conjoined condos first came up in the market in March. The smaller of the two condos was priced at $1.6 million and the other at $3.5 million. That means John and Furnish took a loss on the sale, though currently their primary focus is their son's safety.

It was reported that the singer and his filmmaker partner decided to sell the condo after various paranoid attacks. They wanted to avoid any sort of freaky accidents such as Zachary crawling out of a window of the Sierra Towers condo in West Hollywood.

In 1991, the couples’ friend Eric Clapton lost his son following a fall from the 49th floor of a Manhattan apartment building. Fear of a similar situation is what has prompted John and Furnish to sell their current residence, Radar Online reported.

“They did love the home, but now they are parents they have to think more sensibly and it wasn’t ideal for Zachary,” a source close to the couple told the website." The apartment was situated halfway up the Sierra Towers complex, so it was dangerously high-up. They thought about installing window guards all throughout but Elton was terrified that one of them could malfunction or break and he couldn't live with that on his conscience.

“As responsible parents, Elton and David did the right thing and moved to a more kid-friendly home where they will continue to dote on Zachary,” the source said.

Various celebrities have resided or currently stay in the Sierra Towers. Lindsay Lohan, Courtney Cox, Joan Collins, Sidney Poitier, David Geffen and Cher are some of the high-profile names.
