Reese Witherspoon’s Vacation Home is Up for Sale

Reese Witherspoon’s Ojai vacation home is for sale. The actress is asking roughly $10 million for the horse farm, which was originally built as a stable for glassware magnate Edward Libbey, according to Zillow.

The "Legally Blonde" star bought the property in 2008 and she has been using it as a getaway since then. The estate is an hour’s drive from Los Angeles and it is in an area that feels “like you’re in the country and you’re away from it all,” listing agent Billy Rose said in a blog.

Spread across seven acres, the estate has four bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms in the main house. A barn, various horse stables and a carriage house also come with the property, which include a swimming pool and an organic garden.

According to the Zillow blog, other highlights of the main house is its decor. The house has original stonework, plank flooring and Spanish-tiled details. It also has a central fireplace.
Witherspoon is said to be emotionally attached to the property, for this is where her weeding with second husband Jim Toth was held. The couple are expecting their first child together, while Witherspoon already has two girls from her first marriage to actor Ryan Phillippe.

Interestingly, Witherspoon and her family are not the only ones who often retreat to Ojai estate for some peace and quiet. When her "Water for Elephants" co-star Robert Pattinson found out about his girlfriend Kristen Stewart’s alleged affair with director Rupert Sanders, Ojai estate is where Pattinson retreated to.

“Assuming the reports are correct and Pattinson was there, it’s a place that people don’t care; there’s not the same sort of celebrity attraction that we have here [in L.A.] with the vans and buses with people who want to go look at houses that people lived in 40 years ago,” explained Rose. “I think that you can be much more of a normal person up there.”

Meanwhile, reports have it that Pattinson is also considering selling the Los Angeles mansion he shared with his "Twilight" co-star and girlfriend Stewart.

According to an earlier Radar Online report, Pattinson is reportedly planning to shift base permanently to the UK.

“Robert is thinking long and hard about returning to London,” a source close to the star said. “He’s selling his home in Los Angeles, not only because it holds bad memories, but because he wants a fresh start. He never fell in love with Los Angeles and has always longed for home. When Kristen was shooting Snow White and the Huntsman in London, he made his excuses to visit her as much as he could - he missed it so much.”

Now, that the couple are reportedly together again, only time will tell whether the sale materializes.
