'Marvel's Jessica Jones' Netflix Release Date: Rosario Dawson To Appear As Part Of 'Daredevil' Crossover?

Two Netflix shows might have a possible crossover soon. The upcoming new Netflix series, Marvel's "Jessica Jones," might have a possible crossover with "Daredevil," as reports claim.

According to Indie Wire, the show is based on the comic book series "Alias," which was written by by Brian Michael Bendis and published by Marvel. The comic book ran for 28 issues from 2001 to 2004, and it is about the life of Jessica Jones who retired from being a superhero and became a private detective instead.

The role of Jessica Jones was earlier confirmed to be played by Krysten Ritter, and although the character was described as a retired superhero, showrunner Melissa Rosenberg revealed that audiences will still see the superhero side of Jessica in the show. Speculations state that Ritter could play her failed superhero alter egos like Jewel or Knightress.

During the 2015 Summer TCA Press Tour, Rosenberg also revealed a possible "Daredevil" crossover and teased that one of the show's stars might appear in the upcoming series to add another female presence aside from Jessica Jones. According to Franchise Herald, the showrunner confirmed that this character will be Rosario Dawson's Claire Temple. In addition, the showrunner confirmed that there are also other smaller characters from "Daredevil" who will be appearing in "Jessica Jones."

Marvel TV boss Jeph Loeb described the upcoming show as a "psychological thriller" and he assures fans that there will be "plenty of action" in the series. Rosenberg added that the show will not just be about the action but will also be about Jessica's character and her emotional arc.

Aside from Ritter, the show will also include Mike Colter as Luke Cage, David Tennant as villain Zebediah Kilgrave/Purple Man, Carrie-Ann Moss as Harper and Rachael Taylor as Patsy Walker/Hellcat.

As of writing, Netflix has not yet revealed the official release date for "Jessica Jones." However reports reveal that it might be released later this year.
