Will Season 9 of "The Big Bang Theory" bring a new love interest for Amy Farrah Fowler?
In the Season 8 finale, Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Amy (Mayim Bialik) were making out during their five-year anniversary celebration when it abruptly came to an end. Sheldon, out of the blue, contemplated whether he should start watching "The Flash," which led Amy to call him out on how he's not able to focus on her. Amy then breaks up with Sheldon who appeared to have planned to propose to her.
Showrunner Steven Molaro has initially teased about the turn of events of the show to The Hollywood Reporter. Molaro also opened up about the possibility of Amy finding a new mate in the upcoming season after the breakup. Based on the synopsis released by CBS for the first episode of the ninth season, Sheldon will try to solve the mystery as to why Amy has broken up with him and will find a quick way to get back together with her.
Bialik has also teased about the upcoming season of the show on her blog Kveller. She mentioned that the newest season will start "literally less than 24 hours" from how the eighth season ended. She assured fans that the first episode will start at a hilarious note and gave recognition to Kevin Sussman (who plays Stuart) on his funny delivery of his lines. Will Stuart be Amy's new love interest?
Molaro, however, still believes that Amy and Sheldon will definitely get back together eventually despite the surprising setback in the Season 8 finale. Although the producer isn't completely certain as to what will happen to the geeky couple, he assured viewers that Sheldon will work hard to win his lady back.
Viewers will also find out soon if Penny (Kaley Cuoco) and Leonard (Johnny Galecki) really did tie the knot in Las Vegas. The season finale ended for the twosome on a weird note when Leonard confessed about kissing another woman while they were on the way. This major development will reportedly be quickly resolved in the season premiere.
"The Big Bang Theory" Season 9 will premiere on September 21 on CBS.
