3 Important Lessons Real Estate Agents May Learn From Hockey

It's been almost a month since the 2015 Stanley Cup Finals ended and Blackhawks emerged as the champion National Hockey League in the series. But that  game, or the sport itself in its totality taught us many lessons. And some of this lessons are even applicable in the area of real estate, as an agent or broker. And below are some of the lessons which you may apply in the real estate industry.

Numbers Game

As a real estate agent you have a goal in mind; and in order for such goal to be actualized or be fulfilled, you should be ready to take a shot. For as to the words of hockey legend, Wayne Gretzky, "You miss 100% of the shots that you don't take." The line simply suggests that you need to start shooting at your goal till you hit it. Winning teams in hockey believe in a principle that the more shots on goal are taken the higher the chance that it will go in the net. Business, in all of its aspects resound similar principle. You need to make constant sales calls to convert lead and make necessary follow ups on those leads no matter what. For who knows, the next call or follow-up would be the winning shot.

Be a Grabber

Most of the time, hockey goes without any major opportunities for scoring, but when such opportunity comes forth, players would really hustle their way for a shot. The same thing goes for you, you ought not to miss opportunities to meet clients or even a sale. You should take advantage of the momentum if you'll gain one and take advantage also of big prospects ones they would present themselves. For if you'll miss those things, and then you'll go home with a loss.

Stand-Up

Like most other sports, players are also hit and even knocked down in hockey. Similar to your chosen industry, there would be times that you will be hit and be tumbling down. But imitating hockey players who would immediately stand-up after the fall, you should also pick-up yourself from the blunders and missed opportunities you've made. For any delay means others will get the opportunity to score. Just keep on playing and be smart while playing the game.

Like hockey or even with any other sports, rules and guidelines are present. There are also some unfair calls that would perhaps be experienced while you pursue success in your chosen field. Just always remember to stay focus no matter what trials and tribulations would be coming you way, trust your skill and talent and always put them into constant practice and honing for greater chances of winning.
