Conor McGregor vs. Ronda Rousey: UFC Champion Says He's Not Ready to Rumble With the 'Rowdy'

A lot of UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey's fellow athletes have expressed their admiration of her sheer talent and power, but one wouldn't expect another UFC Champion like Conor McGregor to feel intimidated by the lady.

In an interview with SI News, McGregor said that Rousey is a "special individual" and has "created the women's game." The two established fighters are in good spirits, but the UFC Men's Featherweight Champ said he wouldn't want to battle it out with the judoka-slash-actress at The Octagon.

"I certainly would not like to end up in a tie-up with Ms. Rousey... I thought if this lady was to get a hold of me she would throw me on my head in literally one second flat. So I would not like to engage in a clinch fight with Ronda," he said.

Despite his surprising lack of confidence, the Irish fighter said that he still believes that he might just win the bout if ever the two UFC superstars duke it out as he has his own tricks up his sleeve. McGregor also believes that he and the "Fast 7" star are both on "top of their game" and are pretty much running it, as mentioned in an interview with Fox Sports.

According to BleacherReport, both are very similar in terms of confidence and passion for the sport, and they aren't exactly afraid to say their piece when it comes to their opponents. It's reportedly refreshing to see that the two very popular athletes aren't afraid to express admiration and respect for another publicly.

Ronda Rousey is set to defend her championship title in UFC 190 on August 1 against Bethe Correia, to be held at the HSBC Arena in beautiful Rio de Janeiro. Feeling the hype for the much-awaited fight? Check out this video from the UFC 190 Media Day:
